10 Commandments for Living Genuinely

Hey girl, hey! I want you to subscribe to my weekly emails for even more goodness.

Have you ever found yourself caught up in someone else’s business nonsense?

We’ve all been there. Hear me out.

I spent a good chunk of my twenties trying to impress people that I didn’t even like. Forget keeping up with the Jones’, I wanted to be the Jones’. I thought that material things were important. Yep. It’s true. Nice cars, home furnishings, purses, clothes, shoes.. you name it. I had to have the best of it. And if I couldn’t for some reason, you didn’t want to get in my way, until I got my way.

Now I know what’s really important, and it’s none of that crap.

I’ve spent the last few years really focusing on living for me, myself and my family. More importantly, I’ve been doing what makes me happy. I’ve been living on purpose, and with purpose.

As a woman, it’s so important that you do the same.

The perception out there of what we should be doing as women and mothers is so ridiculously skewed. If you’re feeling pressure to do something, buy something, or be something you really don’t want, then you know exactly what I mean.

Now more than ever, it’s time for all of us to focus on our own shit. (Click here to tweet it!)

It’s really that simple. If it directly involves you – it’s your shit. If it doesn’t it’s not your shit.

Here are some examples of things that are not your shit

  • Wondering why your neighbor chose not to breastfeed, when you know it’s a no-brainer.
  • Wondering how that girl at work affords her brand new car when the payments have to be more than your mortgage.
  • Wondering why everyone else’s kids seem to be so good at sports when your kid couldn’t get any less athletic.
  • Wondering why that girl you met is so successful in her business venture but you’re striking out again and again.

See where I’m going here?

Ladies, all I want us to strive for is to live a more genuine life. Be you. Do you. Unapologetically. Take compliments. GIVE compliments. Be nice. The list goes on.
