Halloween is just a few days away, and before it’s too late I wanted to share with you some of my favorite healthier halloween snacks. I told you on Instagram last week that I’ve been trying to make after-school time less stressful (think: homework, dinner, baby… you get the idea). So I’ve been prepping a snack before the big kids get home and that way they can settle down, have a snack and get their homework done while I feed baby Vinnie. The theme of the last couple weeks has been Halloween of course!
Here are a few of our favorites…
Candy Corn Fruit Parfaits. For these, I simply layered chopped pineapple, peeled orange and So Delicious coconut whipped topping. It was super easy and they were gone in MINUTES!
DIY Trail Mix. My kids and I are big fans of Annie’s Homegrown snacks, so I grabbed a box of their snack mix, and mixed it up with some organic chocolate covered raisins, and unsalted pistachios. Super easy grab and go snack!
Peanut Butter Pumpkin Dip. This is one of my favorites, I saw Stacy’s Simply Cocoa chips at the market and snagged them because they looked SO good (even though I was unsure of what I would use them for). I ended up combining 2TBS of peanut butter, 1/2 cup of pumpkin puree and 1 cup of truwhip whipped topping (or any whipped topping of your choice). This was the perfect combo for the cocoa pita chips! I will definitely make it again.
Clementines and Cheese Sticks. These are so easy, grab a black marker and color away! No cooking, measuring or combining required.
Pretzel Sticks and Banana Slices. I pre-dipped these pretzel sticks in melted chips so they chocolate would harden and keep the mess to a minimum (my favorite are from Enjoy Life foods). I also laid out banana slices and some extra sprinkles for more dipping fun.
Don’t forget – you can follow me on Instagram for more food fun through the rest of this week and beyond! See you over there.
